Your Rights as a Borrower

All borrowers have certain right under law. They are as follows:

  1. Liberty Home Loans Services must mail or deliver a Good Faith Estimate, Truth in Lending, and other real estate forms, each of which disclose all mortgage-related information. This must be done within three days of the receipt of your initial loan application.
  2. A borrower can lock a loan with any reasonable notice during the loan process (some restrictions may apply).
  3. Lock Commitments can be requested in writing from the loan officer.
  4. Borrowers have a right to review all closing fees before signing any loan documents.
  5. Borrowers have a right to receive a copy of their appraisal [same] and survey (if applicable) after the closing.
  6. Primary Residence Refinances are required to have a federal Right of Recision. Federal law requires that this occurs within three after the loan’s closing date. A borrower can cancel the loan anytime during the rescission period.
